We start our next lovely update with a couple shots from around the University of Saskatchewan, both in and out of class. This is where I’ll be residing for the next couple/few years, so get used to seeing this in some updates!

Sitting in Sociology class can sometimes be entertaining, when old women aren’t bitching and complaining about the state of the world or how womens rights are being violated every time someone uses the term ‘feminist’. Give me a break…

And inside of this building (The Thorvalson Building) I enjoyed many late-night games of laser-tag thanks (in great majority) to Clayton Brauner and Jim Meier for supplying the initial amount of gear. As we continued to play night after night we soon discovered the joy of ebay and bought quite a bit!

Winter Wonderland my ass. More like frozen tundra called Saskatoon.

This is part of the Spinks building as far as I could tell, or perhaps it’s still Thorvalson. I’m not 100% sure but either way it makes a nice picture, don’t you think? Post a comment and let me know… comments are at an all-time low, at one comment every month or so, damnit!

Thanks to Kate for letting us know about this. Apparently “Porn Nation” is a Christian-funded presentation on the evils of pornography and how our society is becoming addicted to it. Interesting to say the least

Don’t tell anyone… but this is where they grow “the dope”!!!!!

Here we have a test subject John who I met just outside of the B’Ahai Studies booth in Lower Place Riel in the ‘Tunnel’. We was a great subject for us and spoke his mind about both the durian candy we fed to him as well as about his religion of Baha’i! Thanks for being such a great guy about it John!

As the snow begins to fall in Saskatoon, I rev my engine and put my Vibe into reverse, then take off down the driveway. I’m on my way to the farm today to meet up with my Great Uncle and check to see that everything is honkey-dorey out in Blaine Lake.

GPS?
Yes!

Camera?
Yes!

Camera Mount?
Of course!

Radar Detector?
…. crap. OK, so three out of four ain’t bad!

Here we go, off to the farm to visit Uncle Jim! He (in my opinion) is one of the last cowboys left in Saskatchewan. In this little clip, we’re traveling in my Pontiac Vibe along the highway and nearly get roasted off by a stupid combine. Those bastards don’t know how to drive. Mix that with a bunch of horrible pot-holes and a poorly-maintained highway and you’ve got this video of me nearly taking the ditch!

Here’s one of the slopes right by the Petrofka Bridge on the way to Blaine Lake, Marselin, Leesk and eventually the small city of Prince Albert. These hills are somewhat famous because they are home to the Dhoukabour Caves where the first Dhoukabour people that came from Russia moved. During their first and second winters, they dug large holes out of the side of the
hills and lived in the ‘caves’ to endure the winter weather.

Here’s my great-uncle Jim. And here’s a little bit of a clip around his place. This truly is the dwelling of a cowboy!

Obviously some little critter has been walking through the snow. Now I didn’t see any cats out there neither did my sister so that would probably mean that bit cat came through and either wiped out the cat population or possibly that they are just hiding underneath of the old farm house.

Yep, certainly the domicile of a cowbow. All of that leather that you see hanging about the mirror is actually from the 1950′s and was hand-made by this man’s brother, Fred.

Of course he’s a cowboy… just look at those hats!

Bring sunglasses… seriously.

Finally taking a nice leisurely drive home. Accompanied to some tunes played by the Tragically Hip (The Darkest One) in the background, you get to actually see just how flat Saskatchewan is.

Just having a luxurious walk through the university campus. At some point in the future when the snow leaves the ground, I’ll do a ‘Tour In 10 Minutes’ on my roller-blades. Basically zip you through each of the buildings.

Thanks to working at London Drugs, I fudged up both my back AND my ankle. here I am (thanks to a mirror) on my back getting treatment at Saskatoon Physiotherapy.

One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just isn’t the same!
I found out shortly after that they really don’t like it when you take pictures inside of Toys R Us!
