The Train Accident – In the North industrial end of Saskatoon, somehow a train managed to tip over a couple of the cars which ended up spilling a butt-load of grain and tied up 51st Street for hours.
And now… onto the FINAL videos…. simply a series of videos produced on my Nikon D90 to see how the resolution really is. It advertises as ‘High Definition’ but I don’t buy it… my Panasonic seems to do better video than the D90

Sadly as many international students arrive at the University of a foreign land, eventually comes the time for them to ship back to their homes in their respective countries. Sadly, this is time for Motoaki to return back to Japan. With a degree in hand, he will head to Tokyo now and work for one of the many large companies. Moto, we bid you farewell and good luck!!

As is the season for Christmas cards, I happened to receive three more! One from Yoko (although more a post card than anything – and to be honest, it’s quite old, but I thought I’d add it anyway), a Christmas card from Reiko Hirabayashi back in Yokohama and even a beautiful artsy card from Aki Otani back in Kanagawa. Thanks to you three! (and for the record, yes, they each were on my outgoing card list!!)
First up, a beautiful post card from Yoko showing off Mt. Fuji and the Sakura trees (cherry blossoms)

Next would have to be a lovely (and sparkley!) card from Reiko, one of my old students. Sadly the scan doesn’t do it justice, but in light it shimmers as if the tree were made of a fine crushed glass…. as most trees are in Japan . . . .

Last, but certainly by no means least, is the gold-leaf covered card from Aki. Sadly I can not read the kanji (Japanese) lettering on the front, so if someone would like to take a shot at it, feel free to post what it says! Beautiful artwork indeed!
